Brief History of the Journal

The Alupe University Multidisciplinary Journal (AUMRJ) was established as an open access, peer-reviewed academic journal under the auspices of Alupe University, Kenya's premier health and science-focused public university. The journal was launched in response to the growing need for a credible platform to disseminate high-quality scholarly work spanning diverse academic disciplines.

Since its inception, AUMRJ has embraced a multidisciplinary approach, welcoming research articles, reviews, and case studies from fields such as health sciences, natural sciences, education, social sciences, agriculture, and technology. This inclusive scope reflects Alupe University's mission to promote innovation, knowledge sharing, and community-focused research.

AUMRJ is committed to academic excellence, ethical publishing practices, and enhancing the visibility of African scholarship. By adopting an open access model, the journal ensures that research outputs are freely accessible to scholars, practitioners, and the public, both locally and internationally.

The journal continues to grow in reputation and impact, serving as a vital platform for emerging and established researchers to contribute to national and global conversations on science, education, and development.

Editorial and Peer Review Process

  1. The publication shall be referred to as the Alupe University Multidisciplinary Research Journal (AUMRJ)
  2. The frequency of publication shall be Bi-annual (twice per year, once every six months).  The journal shall also publish special proceedings of scientific conferences.
  3. Types of research papers: Original research papers, reviews and short communications
  4. Subject Areas of Publication: Health Sciences, Science, Technology and Social Sciences:
    1. Agriculture and Food Science
    2. Business and Economics
    3. Computing, Informatics and Security
    4. Education
    5. Engineering and Technology
    6. Health Sciences
    7. Pure and Applied Sciences
    8. Social Sciences
  5. This Journal will use peer and double-blind review; that both the reviewer and author identities will be concealed.
  6. Papers to be published in AUMRJ must be the original work of the author/s that has not been published previously in any manner. 
  7. Author/s should not submit their article simultaneously to other Journals. 
  8. All responsibility for a manuscript is incumbent on the authors, concurrence with other authors, clear on who the corresponding author is.
  9. All submitted manuscripts will be subjected to a plagiarism check that will be done by AUMRJ. In a manuscript, sources should be cited. The similarity index report should not exceed more than 15% with no more than 2% from a single source.
  10. Authors should not violate any existing local and international copyright laws. Authors retain the copyright of the published papers.
  11. AUMRJ is committed to open access for articles. All of the AUMRJ articles are free to access from the date of publication.

Open Access Policy

AUMRJ is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or / institutions. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to full text articles in this journal, or use the articles for any other lawful purpose without asking prior permission from the publisher or author. This journal supports open Access principles that advocate for free availability of research publications as a way of supporting greater global exchange of knowledge. Authors of articles published in this journal remain the copyright holders, all articles published in AUMRJ can be re-used, re-produced and shared according to the creative Commons license agreement (https://creativecommons.org/)

Plagiarism Report  

All manuscripts submitted to AUMRJ must be accompanied by a plagiarism report from a reputable plagiarism checker, such as Turnitin. Manuscripts containing plagiarism will not be considered for publication in the journal. If plagiarism is brought to light after a manuscript has been published, AUMRJ reserves the right to formally retract such manuscripts and publish statements to reference material as plagiarism
